First Con in the books!
I had a BLAST at CoastCon! Met tons of people, saw awesome cosplayers, and sold some books! I even got brave and did a Nica Cosplay. Let me tell you, it's not easy getting green!
Michael and his amazing daughter, Brittenney, were next to me. I enjoyed chatting with and learning from them.
New friend Barbara was the first person to purchase Water’s Break at CoastCon.
It really wasn’t fair having Korean & Japanese snacks in the space right across from me. What’s a girl to do? Buy the shrimp ships and Asian cakes, or course! I also came home with a good assortment of ramen.
like the shirt says.
It was so cool to meet Les Johnson, NASA scientist and Sci-Fi author extraordinaire.
Les allowed me to hold a piece of solar sail! It was amazingly lightweight! Look at me, holding space stuff in my hands!!! Total geek-out moment!!!
I had so much fun talking to new people about Water’s Break. Thanks, Gino, for stopping by.
Getting her hair color! Lava Locks!
NICA appropriate clothing. I sacrificed one of my son’s dress shirts for this, but they hadn’t bothered to claim it since the aughts.
Don’t you think the design looks a bit seaweedy?
All the green makeup!
It’s not easy going green, but with some help from ULTA, I think I pulled it off!
It was great fun to meet Capt. Garrett Spears in person!! HAHA. Craig and I enjoyed watching Jake in The Outpost, so this was a treat.
He was a super-nice guy!
I have connected with KRISTI in Ukraine, multiple times in Birmingham,1 and at the Natchez Trace terminus in Louisiana! She’s come to Dima’s soccer games and Vicka’s races and this time she drove two hours to meet me in Biloxi. <3
How does one repay a friend for driving two hours to hang out with you? You introduce them to raw oysters and all kinds of seafood!!
(Kristi liked the oysters!)
I really wished Craig had been able to come. He would have loved to check out the WarHammer displays.
Teresa is a new local author friend, and has been helping me navigate book events like CoastCon. Thanks for inviting me, Teresa!!
I just finished Teresa’s recent release, PROPHECY’S DAUGHTER , which is a cool blend of Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Now I need to read the first book in this series, ALDEBAR HOME.
A different green-skinned buddy.
That took a bit. I ended up going out to dinner Saturday night in Nica makeup and got more than a few odd looks!!!
